Recently, Tornig Group companies have helped with the resettlement of ethnic Armenian refugees from Syria, providing emergency assistance, housing, jobs and interest free loans.
Arajamugh Village: Working with the Artsakh Fund – Eastern United States, which partnered with the Tufenkian Foundation, we used our construction knowledge and finance to help construct 19 houses which were mainly inhabited by young families from nearby areas, families who fled from Azerbaijan during the war, as well as current and retired officers from the nearby NKR military base. After building these houses, together with our partners, we built supplementary facilities, including a school, a community centre and mayor’s office. Now, Arajamugh features newly built houses with modern amenities. Alongside these homes, water, power lines, sewage disposal, livestock barns, and gravel roads have all been provided.
Future plans include building a clinic, expanding the school and building additional houses.
Other projects in the region helped local farmers with interest free loans to purchase equipment and machinery.
Tornig Group companies proudly support several NGOs that campaign for equal women's rights, support centres for women that also campaign to criminalise domestic abuse and those that support women entrepreneurs.
